Manu’s Bat Mitzvah Project

I am 12 years old, and am in the 7th Grade at Kinneret Day School in Riverdale, NYC. I enjoy dancing, travel, and going away to Cedar Lake Camp in PA over the Summer.

I’m excited to celebrate my bat mitzvah on December 14th with my sisters, parents, aunts, uncles, cousins, and my grandparents attending. I’m grateful that my grandparents and my mom’s siblings will be here from Argentina to celebrate with me!

I am proud to raise funds for Sharsheret for my bat mitzvah project.

Sharsheret, a national non-profit organization, improves the lives of Jewish women and families living with or at increased genetic risk for breast or ovarian cancer through personalized support and saves lives through educational outreach.

Sharsheret is an amazing organization that has helped many families dealing with the challenge of breast cancer.

This year, my grandmother, Mara, had a recurrence of breast cancer. This was her second time fighting this terrible disease; the last time was right after my parents got married. It was hard on my Baba Mara and the entire family, and I was very worried about her. However, she proved once again that she was tougher than the cancer and she is completely recovered in time to celebrate my bat mitzvah.

I have chosen to support Sharsheret for my bat mitzvah project so others with similar challenges can get the assistance they so desperately need.
